Church to offer lasagna dinner
Gilman United Methodist Church will be hosting a lasagna dinner on Jan. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta. The meal will include lasagna, garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverage. There will be a free will offering.
Tunnel Relay for Life to hold dinner
The Tunnel Relay for Life Team will be holding a soup bean dinner Jan. 23, serving from 11:15 a.m to 1 p.m. The menu will include soup beans, cornbread, ham sandwiches, beverages, and various homemade desserts. Cost is a donation, which will go to Relay for Life (American Cancer Society). All are welcome.
Gather, Praise, Seek at Tunnel church
Contemporary Service at Tunnel United Methodist Church - Gather, Praise, Seek (GPS) will be held from 11:15 to noon Sunday. The guest speaker will be Mike King. He will be speaking on "His Will, Our Won't" from the book of Jonah, and will lead an informal discussion. All are welcome to this time of contemporary Christian music, worship, seeking and fellowship. Tunnel Church is located on Ohio 550 at Tunnel, four miles west of Marietta.

Bible College prayer conference over
The Marietta Bible College has just concluded its annual Prayer Conference. During the five day conference, each message was on the subject of Prayer. At least 70 preachers from the local area, as well as other states were in attendance.
On Sunday, Nov. 23, Myron K. Guiler will preach in the 10 a.m. morning service of the Marietta Bible Center Church.
Joe Offenberger will preach in the evening service at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Joe Offenberger will depart for a trip to the Philippines. While there, he will teach at the International Baptist Mission to Asians Bible Colleges in Manila, and in Tarloc. In addition, he will visit the churches founded by several of our graduates.
The mid-week service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Pastor Guiler will lead the Bible study at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, Jan. 26, Pastor Guiler will teach the Book of Revelations at the Kannonsburg Bible Church near Seneca Lake.

River of Life Assembly of God Church Sunday morning services are held at 10:30 a.m. with the children's ministry at 10:30 a.m. The office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Group to attend Gospel Sing
The 14th annual Capital City Gospel Sing will be departing via motor coach from the Kroger parking lot in Marietta on March 25 to Charleston, W.Va., by C.L. Tours.
The concert will feature The McKamneys, The Inspirations, The Primitive Quartet, The Good Shepherd Quartet and Mike Upright with Standing Tall. The cost is $49 per person (artist circle seating is being provided) and must be paid by Jan. 31. Seating is limited.

Deadline for food orders extended
The deadline has been extended for the January Angel Food Ministries at Second Congregational Church, 1855 Greene St., Marietta. Orders will be taken until 11:59 p.m., Jan. 23 for on line orders. Mail orders must be received by Jan. 22 and phone orders need to be made by Jan. 23. The change was made because of the weather in Georgia which resulted in trucks not being able to make deliveries. The distribution date has been rescheduled to 9 to 11 a.m., Jan. 29.

Upward basketball season to begin
Marietta First Church of the Nazarene located at 100 Mill Creek Road begins the Upward Basketball season. Games begin this Saturday, Jan. 22 and will run for the next eight weeks. Families and friends of players are welcome to come and enjoy the games. A concession stand is also available
Service: Duty to fight for truth

Senior high retreat in Pomeroy
The Ohio Valley Christian Assembly and Kentucky Christian University will be hosting a Senior High Retreat on Feb. 11 to 13 at the OVCA location at 39560 Rocksprings Road, Pomeroy, Ohio 45769. The retreat topic for the weekend is 'Personal Purity.' Students grade nine through 12 are welcome to attend. Registration forms are due by Feb. 1st. The cost is $25.

Baby dedication part of Sunday worship
This Sunday morning, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m., Lighthouse Baptist Church of Vincent will have a baby dedication as part of its morning worship.
"A baby dedication means that parents are committing themselves to raising their child in the Christian faith," said A. C. Smith, senior pastor of the congregation. "The congregational members are dedicating themselves to supporting the parents in this endeavor."
Lighthouse Baptist Church is located on Ohio 339, between the villages of Vincent and Barlow.
