MC professor active at Chicago meeting

Marietta College's Grace Johnson presented a paper, developed and facilitated a workshop, and chaired two sessions at the annual meeting of the North American Accounting Society (March 23 to 25) in Chicago.

Her paper, "The Impact of Albrecht & Sack (2000) - 10 Years Later: A Preliminary Study," examined faculty reaction to the seminal accounting education monograph.

Along with Bob Russ (Northern Kentucky University), Susan Minke (Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne), and Larry Garrison (University of Missouri-Kansas City), Johnson led one of the discussion groups in the accounting "swap meet" workshop. She also chaired two sessions at the conference. The McCoy Professor of Accounting has been active with the North American Accounting Society for more than a decade. She presently serves as the organization's webmaster.

Nurse earns national OR credential

Debra Kroll, perioperative registered nurse at Marietta Memorial Hospital, recently earned the credential of Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) after successfully completing the rigorous national exam developed and administered by the Competency and Credentialing Institute.

Certification recognizes a nurse's commitment to professional development.

Jefferds Corp. earns honor from Toyota

At the recently completed annual Toyota Material Handling Dealer meeting in Miami, Fla., Jefferds Corporation, of Parkersburg, received the Silver Circle Award which recognizes dealerships with exemplary performance in sales, service, parts, rental, training and financial. Jefferds has been a Toyota Dealer since 1994 and has been in business since 1947. It received a Tiffany Crystal award.
