The Marietta Times

The 18th annual Gold Wing Road Riders Teddy Bear Run took place on Saturday, May 14, with Mayor Mike Mullen (with his bike) sending the riders off. Thirty-three riders on 26 bikes from 12 local cities, participated in the run that delivered 45 teddy bears along with the proceeds from a 50/50 drawing.

Thank you to the following people and businesses that supported this event for the Marietta Area Teddy Bear Fund: The Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter A-3; Hometown Honda; volunteers, Sallye Bom and Andy Francis, John and Dee Ayers, Harry and Bobbi Irvine; Marietta Memorial Hospital; Marietta Times; Marietta City Police Department Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The Teddy Bear Run benefits the Marietta Area Teddy Bear Fund that provides over 1,000 free stuffed animals to children, aged 6 months to 12 years old, admitted to either area hospital. Anyone wishing to make a donation may send it to Marietta Area Teddy Bear Fund, P.O. Box 225, Marietta, Ohio, 45750.
