Scott and Sonja (Deem) Burdette of Southside W.Va. are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary July 9 in Redhouse, W.Va. The celebration is being hosted by their children, Steve Burdette and Stephanie (Burdette) Abbott.
They were married July 11, 1961, in St. Marys, W.Va. with a Justice of the Peace officiating.
She is the daughter of the late Kenneth Deem and Mildred (Full) Deem.
He is the son of Roscoe Burdette and the late Marguerite (Clark) Burdette.
They are the parents of Steve Burdette of Winfield, W.Va.; Stephanie (Burdette) Abbott of Fraziers Bottom, W.Va.; and Lisa (Dulaney) Jeffries of Winfield.
They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with another one in the near future.
She is retired from Burdette Camping Center. He is semi-retired from Burdette Camping Center
