Lawrence "Jeff" and Betty Dawson of 780 Mitchells Lane, Marietta, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 7 surrounded by family at Ryan's in Marietta.
They were married Aug. 17, 1951, in Newport News, Va., by Justice of the Peace C.C. Dillenger.
The couple have three children: Lawrence "Larry" Jr. of Marietta; Susan Miller and her husband, Tim, of Whipple; and Sherry Lynn Dawson, who is deceased.
They have eight grandchildren: Kathy Littleton and her husband, Shawn, of Marietta; Jason Dawson and his wife, Marie, of Waterford; Nathan Sturm and Jennifer of Whippple; Heidi Smith and Josh of Whipple; Krixten Bules and her husband, Roe, of Lowell; Demetria "D.D." Mims of Warren; and William Allen Dawson and Angel Camilla Walters, who are deceased.
They also have 12 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth "Liz" Fulton; Tyler Sturm; Ashley Bules; Brandon Myers; Madeline Gray; Joshua Myers; Aunru Cutshaw; John Michael Smith; AbbyJayne Bules; Brayden Curry; Tifani Smith; and carleton W. Sparks Jr, who is deceased.
