Marilyn Ruth Chalfant and Harland Michael Wyers were united in marriage July 1 at Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park in Parkersburg with the Rev. Bob Alfred officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Robin Chalfant of Marietta.
The bridegroom is the son of Harlan and Marlinda Wyers of Ellenboro, W.Va..
The bride wore a white satin fit and flare illusion halter gown with beading and embroidery throughout and on the train. She carried a bouquet of red David Austin roses, white Casablanca lilies and royal blue delphinium.
Courtney Rutter, the bride's cousin, served as maid of honor. She wore a royal blue maxi gown with a rosette neckline. Heather Husk served as the bridesmaid. She wore a red maxi gown with a keyhole neckline. They each carried a bouquet of red David Austin roses, white lilies and royal blue delphinium. Mykala Edgell served as the junior bridesmaid and she wore a white tea length dress with eyelet detail.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with a white satin vest and tie.
Best man was Philip Scott Randolph. He wore a black tuxedo with red satin vest and tie. Groomsman was William Morris, the bridegroom's cousin. He wore a black tuxedo with a royal blue satin vest and tie. Junior groomsman was Garrett Chalfant, the bride's cousin. He wore a black tuxedo with royal blue satin vest and tie.
A dinner and dance reception followed at the Marietta Shrine Club. After a honeymoon to Virginia Beach, Va., the couple reside in northern West Virginia.
