Twisted Sisters Boutique, in Marietta, was asked to speak at a recent Trollbeads Academy in Columbus.
Trollbeads academies are held throughout the country to give retailers new ideas and a chance to meet other retailers and the owners of Trollbeads. Becky Pritchett, co-owner, Suzi Hendrickson and Jennifer Phillips, co-managers spoke to other retailers about how they have become so successful in selling Trollbeads. The secret to that success is all about customer service and the passion for the line that Pritchett and her staff possess. Twisted Sisters Boutique was one of the first retailers in the nation to carry the line and the first in the area to introduce the interchangeable bead jewelry in 2004. With over 500 interchangeable beads offered in many styles and price ranges - from $28 to $1,100 per bead - they are appealing to women in every age bracket, yet each bracelet or necklace is unique to its owner.
As an enterprise, Trollbeads seek to engage with those who share their vision, passion, ideals and to transact honestly with all so that they are known as a company with a soul. Trollbeads started life as 'Troldekugler' in 1976 in a small jeweler's store in Copenhagen, Denmark. The first quirky little beads were designed by silversmith S'ren Nielsen and gradually other family members began contributing their own designs. Until 2000 every design came from a family member. As the popularity of Troldekugler grew and the beads started to travel outside the Scandinavian countries, they took on the name they are known by today: Trollbeads. Today Trollbeads/Troldekugler can be found in more than 50 countries. S'ren Nielsen continues to design new beads and the 'family' has grown to include 18 internationally recognized designers and over 600 beads - each with a unique design and story. Each piece in the Trollbeads collection has its own little history, taking its inspiration from mythology, astrology, fairy tales, fauna, flora, cultural diversity, and last but certainly not least, in the familiar objects of everyday living. Trollbeads products include beads on bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings and accessories. What is most distinctive about Trollbeads, apart from the original design, is the use and combination of fascinating materials. The beads are made from the highest quality raw materials including sterling silver, 18 carat gold, Italian glass, natural pearls and precious stones.
