Robert and Janet (Doyle) Westbrook of 5735 Fifteen Mile Creek Road, Wingett Run, Ohio 45789, will be celebrating 50 years of marriage with an open house, hosted by their children, on Oct. 9, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Liberty Township Community Building on Dalzell Road (Washington County Road 11). The Liberty Township Building was formerly the Dalzell School where the couple held their wedding reception 50 years ago. They were married Oct. 7, 1961, at The Eddy's Ridge Church of Christ.
He is the son of the late Edward and Martha (Thomas) Westbrook and she is the daughter of the late Paul and Mae (Hendershot) Doyle. He was employed at Broughton Foods Company for 17 years until resigning to run his own business in 1977, Westbrook and Sons' Construction. She has worked in many capacities within the family business including bookeeping/secretary.
The couple have four children: Robin (Randy) O'Neal, Mark (Lorel) Westbrook, Angie (Steve) Summers, and Eric (Kari) Westbrook; 11 grandchildren, Amber, Lindsey and Dylan O'Neal, Brianna Reese, Jena Casto, Kaitlyn, Kelsi, Erica, Ty, Colton and Carleigh Westbrook; and two great-grandsons, Liam Reese and Bentley Dunbar.
The couple request that there be no gifts other than the presence of their family and friends to help them celebrate.
