The Marietta Sandlot baseball team finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record after completing a double header sweep of Doddridge County Sunday afternoon.

Marietta Sandlot won the first game 9-2 before claiming the second 10-8.

Andrew Carpenter took the mound in the first game and pitched five innings of work, striking out 11 batters while giving up just two hits. Jacob Wagner came on in relief and retired the side in order to end the game.

Wagner got the ball in the second game and scattered six hits over five innings of work while striking out five to pick up the win. In a role reversal, Carpenter came on to close out the second game for Wagner after Wagner closed out the first game for Carpenter.

Carpenter struck out the side in Doddridge County's last at-bat to get the save.

Offensively, Wagner was 5-for-6 on the day with two doubles and six RBI while Carpenter had a pair of doubles and four RBI.

Marietta outfielder Austin Smith had three hits and scored four runs while Marietta Sandlot catcher Chandler Brockmeier had two hits and three RBI.

Austin Ide, Ausin Vanfossen and Tim Treadway each had two hits on the day while outfielders Roy Beaver and Blake Myers both scored a run.
