A 20-year-old Marietta man was arrested Friday after allegedly asking a 14-year-old girl to perform sexual acts, photograph them and send them to him on his phone.
Jacob L. Hughes, 20, of 28 Townhall Road, was charged with fifth-degree felony importuning and remains in custody at the Washington County Jail pending an initial court appearance Monday.
"A mother was checking her 14-year-old's cell phone messages and saw these messages from him asking her to take photos and to do some other things," said Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks.
The 14-year-old admitted to her mother that she had sent one nude picture to Hughes at his request, according to a release from the sheriff's office. She also said Hughes requested they have sex.
Mincks said additional felony charges of complicity to illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance could be added.
"We'll be analyzing the cell phones and if we recover an image, he'll probably be charged," he said.
