50th: Bernard, Dottie Cothern

Bernard and Dottie Cothern celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 2.

They were married Dec. 2, 1961, at Mt Pleasant Church by the late Rev. Howard West.

Cothern is the son of the late Clifford and Glenna Cothern of Pettyville.

She is the daughter of the late Walt and Ruth Taylor of Mineral Wells.

He was employed for 38 years with Allegheny Power and is now retired. He still serves with the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department.

She was employed as manager of Dudleys Flowers and is now retired.

They have two sons, Michael Cothern of Port Orange, Fla., and Mark Cothern and his wife Beth of Mineral Wells; and five grandchildren, Whitney, Hannah, Haley, Grayson and Jack Michael.

The family will be hosting a reception in the couples honor on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Hampton Inn, Mineral Wells. All family and friends are invited to attend.
