The mission of the Marietta Family YMCA is to promote and inspire life-long development for children, adults and families through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
The vision of your local YMCA embodies both the rich history of the local YMCA and the core values of the YMCA of America focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
As the Marietta Family YMCA prepares for its 110th birthday in 2012, evidence of their mission and values can be seen in the wide variety of programs offered to the community. From childcare to sports programs and the fitness center, your local YMCA addresses the need of the community and offers opportunities for healthy participation.
Children are a precious and valuable part of our families and community and Marietta Family YMCA programs are designed to provide a safe and secure place for children, ages two and half to eleven, to grow and develop. Children enjoy swimming, field trips, healthy snacks, and are part of an exciting learning environment.
Our YMCA also provides qualified and loving staff to care for member's children ages 6 months to 8 years while they use the facility. Parents can enjoy a workout or program at the YMCA and know that their child is having fun in a safe and healthy environment.
Guided Discovery is a part-time preschool program for children 3-5 years old, focusing on enhancement of kindergarten readiness skills. Children participate in field trips, healthy snacks, swimming and age-appropriate activities.
The Marietta Family YMCA is proud to offer quality child care before and after school, to the youth in our community in kindergarten through 5th grade at Harmar, Washington and Phillips Elementary Schools. All Kids Company sites are licensed through the Ohio Department of Jobs & Family Services and participate in the Step Up to Quality Program. Washington and Phillips sites were awarded Star One and Harmar School is the only site in Washington County awarded Star Two. Our programs provide a safe and enriching environment for children to spend time before and/or after school.
