Treasure in the Attic: Marietta items cash in all over

- An Ohio Company land document, owned by a Sacramento, Calif., man, and signed by Nathan Ward in Marietta in 1836, sold recently on the auction block for $26. Ward once served as mayor of Marietta from 1833 to 1836.

- Selling for $46 for a Bethesda, Ohio, seller was a 1913 postcard of the ferry boat "Ben Hur" unloading passengers at Front and Greene Street in Marietta.

- A 1914 postcard addressed to Miss Doris Gracey, Marietta, received one bid of $10 for a Fostoria, Ohio, seller.

- A $3 banknote, issued on Feb. 9, 1838, by Bank of Marietta, sold for $19.

- A merchant token worth 5 cents at Edmonds Place, 111 Maple, Marietta, received 12 bids totaling $35.

- A Broughtons milk bottle brought three bids totaling $16 for a Quakertown, Pa., seller.

- A 181-page book published in 2004, based on two men from Parkersburg, Clement Dowler and Paul Somerville, who served as POWs together in World War II, sold for two bids totaling $5.20.

- A Dan Mercer, Parkersburg, stone mug sold for $80.

- Six Dover, Parkersburg, tin drinking cups brought $28 for a Tennessee seller.

- A 6 ounce Coca Cola bottle dated Nov. 16, 1915, Parkersburg, sold for three bids totaling $15 for a North Carolina seller.

- A vintage coffee bean sack marked Dana Grocery, Parkersburg, brought $12.50 for an Alabama seller.

- A Parkersburg creamery milk bottle cap opener brought 11 bids totalling $33.50 for an Akron, Ohio, seller.

- A 64 ounce Mountain Dew insulated mug marked Parkersburg sold for $5.50.

- A feed sack "Property of Storck Baking, Parkersburg" sold for $25 for a Michigan seller.

- A postcard stating five ways to reach Parkersburg sold for $9.55.

- A metal sign marked Parkersburg Rig & Reel (Bayard Robe Windlass), $30.

- Parkersburg Sentinel newspaper bill, R.E. Horner Editor & Proprietor, 218-220-5th St., Parkersburg, $6.

- A postcard dated Aug. 18, 1905, of Parkersburg Military Camp, received 12 bids totaling $146.50 for a Florida seller.
