With Santa Claus at the malls across the country asking children what they want most for Christmas and retailers amping up toy advertisements this time of year, it sometimes seems the holiday is really intended for little ones.
Still, there are some young adults who have in mind a thing or two they'd like to see under the Christmas tree.
"What I asked for was perfume, a large cluster-like picture frame and a pair of boots and a coat," said Marietta resident Holly Reed, who just turned 36.

Danielle Van Wey pulls an Xbox 360 game system with a Kinect out of a cabinet at the Marietta Kmart store Tuesday. The system is among the most popular Christmas gifts for young men.
Perfume is one item on a list of popular Christmas gifts for young women compiled by gifts.com. Also on that list is cosmetics, laptop sleeves, cross-body bags and personalized bathrobes, as well as jewelry.
Judy Sharp, soft lines assistant manager at the Marietta Kmart store, said jewelry is something a lot of people have been purchasing for Christmas for the young women in their lives.
"Any of the crystal jewelry, we sell quite a few of those," she said. "You have the look of diamonds without the price."
