Power knocked out to half of northern Ohio city

July 7, 2014
Associated Press

TIFIFN, Ohio (AP) — City officials in the northern Ohio town of Tiffin say power has been knocked out across half the city.

A fire at an electricity substation Monday morning has caused an outage affecting traffic lights, homes and businesses.

City officials say AEP Energy hopes to have power restored by early afternoon.

The utility's outage map shows more than 4,000 customers without power in Seneca County.

Tiffin is about 40 miles southeast of Toledo.
