Don and Mabel Bennett of Harriettsville, Ohio, will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married Jan. 25, 1947, by the Rev. Markley in Canton, Ohio.
He is the son of the late Lee and Blanche Bennett and she is the daughter of the late James and Isabelle Walker. They lived in Canton until 1954, moving to Harriettsville to own and operate a general store for seven years. He retired from the Airolite Company in Marietta after 33-1/2 years of service. She has been a homemaker and Senior Citizens Program Director, retiring from the Noble, Monroe and Guernsey County Community Action Agency after 20 years of service. They are members of Twin Rivers Baptist Church of Marietta.
They are the parents of four children: Linda (Don) Warner, Sherry Shively, Judy (Bob) Parks and Dawn (Dave) Michael; five grandchildren, Julie Pottmeyer, Lori (Mike) Dietsch, Stephanie (Travis) Wells, Chris (Melissa) Michael and Zach (Lisa) Michael; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Haught, Ethan and Summer Wells, Mason, Brielle and Braden Michael, Ashton and McKinlee Michael.
