Lewis and Truda (Ritchie) Thomas celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Jan. 25. They were married Jan. 25, 1972, by the Rev. Jess Nutter at his home in Oak Grove.
He is the son of the late Wayne and Mabel (Eileene) Thomas. He is employed with Momentive Performance Materials in Friendly, W.Va., as a chemical operator.
She is the daughter of the late Clem and Alice Tieman and the late Park Ritchie. She is retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.
They enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, he is an avid hunter, and enjoys reading and she enjoys quilting and genealogy research.
They are the parents of Clayton Thomas, who is deceased, and Jamie (Eric) McAfee of Newport. They have three grandchildren, Brayden, Allyson and Jackson McAfee.
The couple celebrated their anniversary with a quiet night out together and spent time with their daughter and grandchildren.
