Hartmann-Schlicher

Amity Sue Hartmann and Joshua David Schlicher were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m., Oct. 15, 2011, at The Lafayette Hotel. Toni Roach was the officiating minister for the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Karen and Brooks Hartmann of Waxhaw, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Marjorie Hartmann of Canton.

She is a 1992 graduate of Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Ohio, and a 1996 graduate of Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. She is a driver's license examiner for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Marietta.

The bridegroom is the son of David Schlicher and Clinton and Valerie Holley, all of Marietta. He is the grandson of Jean Ley of Marietta.

He is a 1995 graduate of Marietta High School and attended Washington State Community College. He is president of Schlicher Construction and Development, LLC.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. She wore an ivory A-line satin dress with a sweetheart bodice covered in beaded lace, illusion cap sleeves and a full lace back. The skirt was side draped with pickup details and a chapel length train. Her headpiece was a two tier elbow length veil. She carried burnt orange gerbera daisies and hocus pocus roses accented with solidago, brown hypericum berries and white larkspur.

The matron of honor was Amanda Silfani. Bridesmaids were Emily Weaner, sister of the bridegroom, and Cheryl Portz, niece of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Madeline Frayser, daughter of the matron of honor. They wore floor length satin and chiffon, spaghetti strap, burnt orange dresses. They carried deep red and burnt orange grebera daisies with the same accents as the bridal bouquet. The flower girl was Arianna Weaner, niece of the bridegroom.

The best man was Robert Schlicher, brother of the bridegroom. The groomsmen were Andrew Shambarger and Brett Hartmann, brother of the bride. The junior groomsman was Wyatt Schlicher, nephew of the bridegroom and son of the best man. The ring bearer was Mars Hartmann, nephew of the bridegroom.

The pianist was Jennifer Phillips. Guests were registered by Teresa Portz, sister of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony at The Lafayette Hotel.

The couple reside in Marietta.
