Missy Schmidt and Scott Fouss were united in marriage during a surprise ceremony Oct. 15, 2011, at their residence in Whipple. Joe Matthews officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Eileen and Jack Haas of Whipple and Charles Schmidt (Mel Hughes) of Lowell. She is the granddaughter of Mary Schmidt of Marietta and the late Delbert and Margaret Vanfossen and Ray Schmidt. She is currently employed with West Virginia Oil Gathering in Saint Marys.
The bridegroom is the son of Opal and Joe Fouss of Whipple. He is the grandson of the late Ralph and Caroline Forshey and Edwin and Betty Fouss. He is currently employed by FlexMag of Marietta.
The reception followed the ceremony.
