40th: Rodney, Darlene Bettinger

Rodney and Darlene Bettinger are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They were married on Feb. 6, 1972, in Woodsfield at the home of J.V.A. Traylor.

He is the son of James and Eva Bettinger of Caldwell. He attended Skyvue High School and Ohio Valley University. He is employed by B & N Coal in Dexter City, where he has been a mechanic for 38 years.

She is employed by Caldwell Exempted Village Schools where she is a first grade teacher. She attended Skyvue High School, Ohio Valley University and earned her teaching degree from Ohio University. She completed kindergarten certification at Marietta College and earned a Masters in Education from Muskingum College in New Concord.

The couple have three children: April (Larry) Hall of Sarahsville, Anthony (Angie) Bettinger of Caldwell, and Quentin (Sharon) Bettinger of Zanesville. They also have three grandchildren: Derek Hall, Haley Bettinger and Riley Bettinger.

The couple enjoy spending time with their family and friends. They also enjoy performing in the Noble County Performing Arts, being involved with the Old Iron Power Antique Power Club and the Noble County Stepping Stones for Ohio Valley University.

An open house hosted by their children is planned for Saturday, Feb. 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Joyce M. Davis Senior Center, 300 Cumberland St., Caldwell. The couple request that there be no gifts, however, they would enjoy receiving cards at 40070 Bettinger Ridge Road, Caldwell, Ohio 43724.
