BSN SPORTS Team Dixie staff additions

The Marietta Office of BSN SPORTS Team Dixie announces the addition of two field sales professionals to its staff. Chris Hendricks and Sam Crawford are now serving the team sporting goods needs for southeast Ohio and West Virginia.

Hendricks comes to BSN SPORTS most recently from Crescent & Sprague Supply, where he worked as an outside sales representative. A graduate of Warren High School in Vincent, and Marietta College, Hendricks played center field and catcher for the Marietta College Pioneers, where he later became an assistant baseball coach at the college. He won two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships, one in 2006 as a player and another in 2011 as a coach.

Crawford joins BSN SPORTS after serving as an intern with the company. He is a 2011 graduate from Marietta College, where he was the first to graduate from the newly created Sports Management program. In addition he also achieved a second major in finance. Crawford is responsible for developing and servicing high school and collegiate athletic programs in southeastern Ohio and northwest and central West Virginia.

According to Regional Sales Manager Todd Northrop, "We are excited about these two outstanding young men joining our organization and helping to extend our reach. They come to us at a time when we are experiencing unprecedented growth."

BSN SPORTS Team Dixie is located at 100 Front St., 5th Floor Riverview Building, Marietta.

Firm to award two $1,000 scholarships

ME Companies, a management and engineering firm headquartered in Columbus, believes in giving back to the community. For the 10th consecutive year, ME will award two scholarships to high school students from select counties in southern and southeastern Ohio. this year each scholarship amount is $1,000.

ME has an established presence in southern and southeastern Ohio and has completed more than 100 infrastructure projects in the area. Therefore, we have selected to offer scholarships to high school seniors from the following counties: Adams, Athens, Fairfield, Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Vinton or Washington. These counties were selected based on ME's work in each area.

ME's goal is to foster college participation in southeastern and southern Ohio. While students entering all career fields are eligible, there will be emphasis on awarding the scholarships to those applicants interested in pursuing study in the field of civil engineering at an accredited university. Students graduating with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher from high schools in any of the aforementioned counties are eligible to apply. Woman completes 25 years at Solvay

Ann Simmons, of Marietta, recently completed 25 years of employment with Solvay Specialty Polymers.

Simmons joined the Marietta plant in 1987 as a distribution clerk and is currently a supply chain clerk.
