Kathleen Marie Hughes and Jason Jennings Woodyard were united in marriage at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Parkersburg. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Msgr. Joseph Peterson, V.F.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Hughes of Parkersburg and the granddaughter of Charles and Ann Hughes of Parkersburg and Jesteen Raines and the late James Raines of Lubeck. She is a 2003 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School and is employed by Strecker Cancer Center in Belpre.
The bridegroom is the son of Pam Pauley of St. Albans, W.Va. and Roger Woodyard of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Gene and Venita Lyons of Parkersburg and the late Dale and Mary Woodyard. He is a graduate of Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University at Parkersburg. He is employed by Wood County Schools. He is an assistant football and baseball coach at Parkersburg High School and an assistant girl's basketball coach at Parkersburg Catholic High School.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a strapless sheath gown with a beaded and crystal bodice. The satin gown had a court train embellished with beading, crystals and satin ribbon. She wore her mother's two-tiered, fingertip veil trimmed in lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of fuchsia roses with crystals.
The maid of honor was Chandra Balderson of Parkersburg. Bridesmaids were Anna Cosper of Parkersburg, Leah Hughes of Parkersburg, sister of the bride and Alisha Hughes of Hagerstown, Md., sister-in-law of the bride. They wore strapless, black cocktail dresses and carried fuchsia roses. The flower girl was Kendall Kimes of Vienna.
The best man was Matt Kimes of Vienna. Groomsmen were Craig Davis of Huntington, Joseph Hughes of Hagerstown, Md., brother of the bride, and Philip Hughes of Parkersburg, brother of the bride.
Readings were given by Mary V. Weber of Parkersburg, aunt and Godmother of the bride and Dr. Anna E. Hughes of Parkersburg, aunt of the bride. Guests were registered by Lauren Weber of Parkersburg, cousin of the bride. Altar servers were John Weber of Parkersburg, cousin of the bride and Peyton Hughes of Vienna, cousin of the bride.
The soloist was Angie Lewis of Parkersburg and the organist was Marie Mallory of Cutler.
The reception dinner and dance was held at Woodridge Plantation. A three tier wedding cake was adorned with a crystal and pearl monogram and the bridegroom's cake featured a "Titletown" theme.
Following a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Parkersburg.
