Program awarded accreditation at MMH
Marietta Memorial Hospital's (MMH) Continuing Medical Education (CME) program has been surveyed by the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) Focused Task Force on Accreditation. Marietta Memorial was awarded accreditation with commendation for six years as a provider of CME for physicians.
The OSMA accreditation seeks to assure both physicians and the public that continuing medical education activities developed by MMH meet the high standards of the Essential Areas, Elements and Policies of accreditation as specified by OSMA.
"The Ohio State Medical Association was very pleased and noticed our exemplary standards for physician education and practice improvement as well as the excellent support provided by Memorial Health System administration," explained Marcy Wesel, CME coordinator.
The CME committee chairman for MMH as well as Selby General Hospital is Dr. Richard Gunovich. Gunovich has served this role since 2007.
The Memorial Health System is a not-for-profit health system governed by a volunteer board of community members that are committed to providing comprehensive services that meet the needs of the region. It is comprised of a network of two hospitals, outpatient service sites, assisted and long-term care facilities and a retirement community.
