Stonewall nets multiple awards

March 5, 2012
From local reports , The Marietta Times

Stonewall Marketing and the West Virginia Department of Commerce recently earned multiple awards in a number of competitions for the state's video campaign "Business at the Speed of Life" touting economic development.

The "Business at the Speed of Life" campaign includes a 5.5 minute film overview and a :30 second television spot highlighting the state's unique opportunities offered to businesses looking to relocate or open shop in West Virginia. The project was a collaboration of the West Virginia Department of Commerce, Stonewall Group (Marietta) and Pikewood Creative (Morgantown, W.Va.).

The campaign recently earned top honors from the WV ADDY Awards, international Telly Awards, AVA Awards and MarCom Awards competitions.

All four competitions judge and honor outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of media.

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the ADDY Awards are the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition. The local WV ADDY Awards are the first of a three-tier, national competition. At the second tier, local winners compete against other winners in one of 15 district competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national ADDY Awards competition.

The Telly Awards, one of the oldest and most esteemed audio/visual awards competitions, are judged by the Silver Telly Council. The AVA and MarCom Awards competitions are sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).

The "Business at the Speed of Life" campaign was unveiled during the second annual Greenbrier Classic PGA Tour in July 2011. The television spot appeared on the CBS and Golf Channel networks and has the distinction of being the first spot produced and aired nationally with an economic development message. Executives from several successful companies throughout West Virginia, including Coldwater Creek, Macy's, and STaSIS Engineering, are featured.

"It was a great honor to work with the West Virginia Commerce Department on this campaign," said Tom Crooks, Stonewall Marketing president. "As a native West Virginian I could not be more proud of the opportunity to promote all that the state offers and see the growth of businesses."
