Martindale runs for Ohio House to create area jobs

March 5, 2012
The Marietta Times

Independence, security, and prosperity are values that every Ohioan and American cherish. As Americans, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to ensure every generation is able to pursue happiness and prosperity. We have that opportunity this year.

The notion claiming the welfare of citizens is best served by reckless spending on government programs is false. The economic failures of Portugal, Greece, and Italy after pursuing borrow and spend policies, which left their people with high unemployment, barren job markets, and massive debt, should serve as a warning to America. This is the path that our nation is taking as we up spending, handouts, and anti-growth tax codes, while digging ourselves deeper in debt.

In 2012, it is expected that 47 percent of Americans who are not claimed as dependents will receive more money in federal benefits than they will pay in income tax. Twenty-five years ago, this number was below 20 percent. High taxes and tight credit caused by deficit spending prevent businesses and business owners from creating jobs. These taxes and deficits force people out of careers and on to the government programs the taxes were enacted to fund. Vote for jobs over government aid, and vote for prosperity over poverty.

Micah Martindale is running for the Ohio House to create jobs and careers in the 94th district Micah understands the need for unity, prosperity, and focused leadership in achieving this goal, and will use your voice to create a better Ohio for you and your family.
