Washington County Democratic Women
The Washington County Democratic Women monthly meeting was held on Feb. 23, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the VFW Post 5108 in Marietta.
The group discussed the upcoming March 6 primary and related issues and candidates as well as the Washington County Democratic Party's Spring Dinner to be held Feb. 24, at American Legion Post 64 in Marietta. Washington County Democratic Party Chair Molly Varner noted the candidates that would be present to speak as well as the guest speaker Honorable Judge Fanon Rucker from Hamilton County, Ohio.
Varner also presented the opportunity for members of the group to attend the Ohio Democratic Party Legacy Dinner to be held in Columbus on March 2.
Guest speaker at the meeting was Marietta City Councilperson-At-Large, Harley Noland. Noland provided an update on all of the city's current major projects including, but not limited to, the sewer plant upgrade, the Armory, Pike and Acme street intersection improvement, Municipal Court building progress, river trail continuation, and the Maple Street day docks project.
The capsule drawing was won by Marcia Beardmore.
The next luncheon meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. March 29 at VFW Post 5108 in Marietta.
