Larry and Jody Newton of Beverly announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Vanessa Newton to Drew Newhart, both of Pooler, Ga.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Ronald Newton and the late Caroline Sue Newton, and Louis Staton of Grantsville, W.Va. and the late Jacqueline Staton.
She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 2004 and received her bachelor's degree in family studies from Ohio University in 2008. She is completing her master's degree in professional counseling from Liberty University and is employed as activity director at the Ruth Byck Adult Day Center in Savannah.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of David and Kimberly Newhart of Alliance, Ohio. He is the grandson of Charlotte Herlan of Newport, Ohio and the late David Hearn, and Barry and Janet Newhart of Homeworth, Ohio. He graduated from West Branch High School in 2003 and received his bachelor's degree in sport management from Mount Union College in 2007. He is employed with Nexeo Solutions as lead manager in Savannah.
A beach wedding is being planned for April 14, 2012, on Tybee Island, Ga. with a reception to follow at the Olde Pink House in Savannah, Ga.
