NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. - Authorities in West Virginia are looking to identify a man's body found in the Ohio River.

The body was discovered pinned between logs early Monday and is being sent to a medical examiner for an autopsy.

The sheriff's office in Monroe County, Ohio, received a report of the body about a half-mile south of Clarington, Ohio. Sheriff Charles Black says the case was turned over to West Virginia State Police, which has jurisdiction over the river.

WTOV-TV of Steubenville reports the victim was described as a 5-foot-10, white male.
