Patricia "Patty" Ann Keith Shafer went to be with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her husband, Charles (Pete) and son, Stephen on Monday (April 16, 2012).
She was born March 9, 1929, in Parkersburg, to the late Raymond and Mary Ann Vincent Keith. She was a 44-year member of the Beverly Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and was the church secretary and treasurer for many years. She had started a choir for young people at the Williamstown Baptist Church and they sang on the radio station WMOA. She was retired from Fort Frye High School after serving as a secretary for 21 years.
She was married Sept. 6, 1952, to Charles (Pete) Shafer, who preceded her on Feb. 1, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Marvin) Ross of Stockport, Paul Shafer of Dexter city and Lois (Rodney) Watson of Greensboro, N.C.; Grandchildren, Jana (Jeremy) Crock, Micah Ross, Jedediah Shafer, Matthew Shafer, Jesse Shafer, Ashleigh Shafer, Kristi (Joshua) Tisdale, Bryan and Joshua Watson and Robert Courtney; great grandchildren, Kayden Shafer, Ian Shafer and Avery Crock; one brother, Ray (Shirley) Keith.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Stephen; sisters, Christine Cain, Maralie Eagle, Endelle Kress, Jolene McGuire; brothers, Glenwood, Ashford and Jack Keith; great-grandchild, Callie Shafer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Beverly Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly.
