Newspaper’s opinion on marriage bill is wrong

April 21, 2012
The Marietta Times

I hope and pray that whoever reads this will feel nothing but my love and respect in this letter to the Marietta Times. I am a 22-year-old white male and have only read the Marietta Times as a newspaper source.

I just read your latest "Our Opinion" article about the freedom of marriage bill. I am so sad, depressed, disturbed, and distraught. I know employees of your paper that do not have the same thoughts as you. I am so appalled by your lack of respect for God. If you believe in God, then you should believe what His Bible says. You have obviously not cared to follow or believe the scriptures that deal with homosexuality being sin.

Being a 22-year-old, my generation is supposed to be accepting of diverse lifestyles such as homosexuality. I cannot as a Christian. Not only is homosexuality a sin in God's eyes, but it is biologically unnatural in regards to the way human bodies are designed.

I cannot support this immoral paper with a completely obvious liberal agenda.

I am getting married to a wonderful girl this summer and have been looking forward to putting our engagement announcement in your paper. I cannot now.

Our country was based on Christian principles and with our country currently going away from God, it will not be blessed. I encourage you to look into Christianity and the way our creator, God, works. Only His Son offers true forgiveness, love, and happiness. Marriage between a man and a woman is the way our God designed our bodies.

Thank you and God bless!
