The Washington County Career Center honors its April Students of the Month, Beth Zimmer and Torrance Dennis.
Zimmer is a Marietta senior enrolled in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Dean and Susan Zimmer of Marietta.
At the Career Center, Zimmer is a member the SkillsUSA youth organization. She was awarded an Excellent rating for her Tech Prep Showcase "Future ER" at Washington State Community College in March. She has received awards for All A's Principal List, All A's and B's Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Outstanding Medical College Prep Student, and Outstanding Anatomy & Physiology Student. At Marietta High School, she was active in FFA her freshmen, sophomore and junior years. Medical College Prep instructor, Karolyn Schafer, nominated her for this honor and commented on special traits and roles that Zimmer carries such as mature, sensible, and a great work ethic.

Upon graduation, Zimmer plans to attend Ohio University of Zanesville to earn an associate degree in as a Registered Nurse and then transfer to obtain her bachelor's of nursing degree.
Dennis is a Belpre senior enrolled in the Heavy Equipment & Natural Resources program, and he is the son of Rodney and Brenda Dennis of Belpre.
At the Career Center, Dennis has earned All A's Principal List, All A's and B's Honor Roll, Outstanding Heavy Equipment & Natural Resources Student, Perfect Attendance, Outstanding English Student, and is a member of the FFA youth organization. Through FFA, he competed and placed tenth in the District Soil Judging and second in the Urban Soil Judging. Dennis is a member of the Belpre High School National Honor Society and was a member of Boy Scouts. Guidance counselor, Cynthia Schwendeman, nominated him for this honor and commented on special traits and roles that Dennis carries such as polite, honest, and hard working.
Dennis currently is working at Napoli's as a cook. After graduating, he plans to attend Hocking Technical College to obtain an associate degree in Heavy Equipment Management.
