Guy Joseph "Joe" Mendenhall, 53, of Lowell, died Sunday (April 29, 2012) at his home.
He was born June 5, 1958, in Marietta, to Guy W. and Olive Whetstone Mendenhall. He was a 1976 graduate of Fort Frye High School. Joe had been a fire safety coordinator and safety manager at the AEP Muskingum River Plant. He was a member of the L-A Fire & Rescue Squad and the Moose Lodge in Lowell. He loved motorcycle riding and racing.
Joe is survived by his parents of Marietta; his wife, Barbara Watson Mendenhall; two daughters, Angela Mendenhall of Lowell and Kimberly Fouss (Mitch) of Whipple; a granddaughter, Madison Stephens; brother, Kenneth Mendenhall (Linda) of Lowell; sister, Linda Wilcher (Marc) of Rustburg, Va.; brother-in-law, Ed Watson (Mary) of Lowell; and sister-in-law, Gail Matheny (Andy) of Devola; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday (May 2, 2012) at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Morris officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, 408 Front St., Marietta. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
