George Henning will be celebrating his 90th birthday on May 10. He resides at 709 Montgomery St., Marietta with his wife, Helen. Henning, a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, was postmaster in New Matamoras for 33 years. Born to Irvin and Marie Nau Henning, he has four daughters: Penny Passavant, Janet (John) Hudspeth, and Susan (Dave) Smith, all of Marietta, and Tina (Carl) Payne of Alpharetta, Ga. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
