Bill and Blanche Schafer will be married 65 years on May 24. The former Harriettsville residents were married by the Rev. David Doan at his Caldwell parsonage in 1947.
She is the daughter of the late Harry and Lydia Heddleson Pryor. He is the son of the late James and Ollie Doan Schafer.
They have one son, Harry J. and his wife, Diane. They have three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
The couple lived in the Harriettsville area 47 years. They moved to Tucson, Ariz. in 1977 and have lived there for 35 years. He worked at the Airolite Company in Marietta. In Tucson he worked at Louv-aire which is a branch of the Airolite Company. She had worked at Harts in Marietta and at Revco in Tucson. They both retired in 1992.
They reside at 5532 E. Kelso St., Tucson, AZ 85712-2214.
