In the "Getting Published" box that appears within the letters column, it is clearly stated that, "We do not publish ... letters quoting scripture at length." In apparent violation of its own policy, the Times published a long letter in both its Friday and weekend editions. So what gives, Marietta Times? You published the letter writer's long diatribe, quoting "scripture" at great length, not once, but twice.
The letter writer said that he is responding to a letter that supported same-sex marriage. His letter explains to us how the Bible condemns homosexuality. We would suggest to the letter writer and all others who believe as he does, that if you oppose same-sex marriage, then don't marry someone of the same sex. Live and let live!
