Roy "Chip" and Rilla Wetz of Marietta will celebrate their 50th anniversary on June 23. They were married at the Church of the Nazarene in Marietta by the Rev. Noble Shirkey on June 23, 1962, which is also his birthday.
He is the son of the late Roy and Ernestine Wetz and she is the daughter of the late Forrest and Eula Bonnette, all of Marietta.
They are the parents of two children: Tonya Robey and Todd Wetz, both of Marietta. They are the grandparents of Tanner, Riley and Sydney Benson and Samantha Robey.
He operated Wetz Sales & Service from 1960 until his retirement in 2003. She was a bookkeeper for R.O. Wetz Transportation until her retirement the same year. They opened Mad Hen Primitives in 2001 and built furniture for the store until their second retirement in April of 2012. They enjoy antiquing and spending time with their family.
They will celebrate their anniversary with a short trip this month.
