Congress should get the blame for jobs mess

July 1, 2012
The Marietta Times

I get a kick out of the Republicans and Democrats blaming each other for the lack of jobs in this country. They are both responsible. You know, our Congress passed the NAFTA trade bill. Now a lot of big manufacturing companies have taken advantage of tax breaks, and cheap labor by moving overseas. Now then, go into Wal-Mart and you will see the shelves loaded with foreign products (clothes, shoes, TV's, cookware, appliances) you name it, all made by foreign cheap labor. We have no one to blame but our Congress. By moving out of the U.S. these companies make millions of extra dollars, and could care less about the middle class. Now it has come back to haunt us. Hundreds and thousands of people have lost their good paying jobs. Our Congress created this! Now it seems like there are more people than there are jobs. We are our own worst enemy.
