The Warren High School Class of 1962, the second graduating class, celebrated their 50th reunion on June 8 at the Barlow Fair Grounds Dining Hall.
Thirty-six graduates plus their quests attended out of the class of 92 graduates. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dye (Phyllis Dunfee), Jerry L. Miller (Diana), Alys Nichols Wagner (Charles), Marie Wentz McGraw (Joseph), Mr. and Mrs. Dean McCoy (Karen Nichols), Karen Tyrrell Johnson, Lovell Hackney (Beverly), Shiela Proctor Thomas, Okey Tolley (Judy), Robert Clark, Sharon Stotler Ritchie, Roger Randolph (Grace), Kenny Arnold (Evie), Paul Custer, John Barnes (Carolyn), Carol Robinson Sciance, Russell Reed, Carolyn Miller Barnes (Charles), James Hetzer (guest, Linda), David Vincent (Charlotte), Jack Marks (Donna), Roberta Smith Hollingsworth, Sharon Perdue Cunningham, Mary Benson Hardesty, Betty Cunningham Lewis, Carroll Wingrove (guest, Candice), Ted Reed (Pat), Joyce Lantz Wright (Charles), Kenny Gillespie (guest, Bev), Georgia Reynolds Dye, William Stacy (Wilma), Carolyn Bryan Walker, James Hall, and Terry Ellis (Rosemaria).
Twenty-two deceased classmates were remembered were Norma Gage Bell, Nancy Wilson McCutcheon, Samuel Morris, Roy Knotts Jr., Wanda Wells Miracle, Judy Walker McAuley, Donna Lupardus Hendershot, Carolyn Nicholson Holt, Larry Byrd, Maxine Black Theobald, Roger Sims, Richard Roddy, Abraham Ullman, Judy Bowles Messengill, Patricia Moore Benedict, Susan Cornes, Francis Nutter, Wayne Glen Science, Mary Bohl Schilling, Loretta Caldwell Smith, Joseph Steven Jenne, and Karen Robertson Hendrix.
Teachers attending who taught members of the class were Peggy Elliott McHugh (sister, Sally), Mary Hammett (friend, Lisa Wagner), Eldon Malling, Hugh Coffman, Bill and Florence Tackett, and Gerald Drake.
Jack Marks took several classmates on a tour of Warren High School in the afternoon. A program with a class directory was made up by Alys Wagner with information on those that were contacted.
There was social time in the afternoon with refreshments served. The evening banquet included music by the Palmer Boys. Class President, Kenney Arnold spoke to the group and the teachers present were recognized.
