A true patriot wants what's best for the USA

Re: What is a Patriot?

I am practically speechless as a result of the Supreme Court's decision led by Justice Roberts to uphold President Obama's Affordable Care Act. I was just sure that the court would rule the other way and I was prepared to criticize them for it. It is the liberal-leaning members that usually go either way but Justice Roberts?

A lot of people are saying this is a victory for Obama and the Democrats. It is that but it is also a victory for the American people. For those that already have health insurance, nothing will change. But the opportunity to buy insurance will become available in the near future for those people who are without. I would suggest that everyone educate themselves in the meantime about the Affordable Care Act and what it actually means. Once the misinformation is discarded, I am sure many more people will like and appreciate it.

It looks like Gov. Romney is going to continue to campaign against Obama's health care plan. This makes no sense at all because Obama patterned the Affordable Care Act after Romney's health care plan in Massachusetts. How can he keep saying he will overturn it when he championed the same plan? And how can the Republicans say bad things about the Affordable Care Act when it was their idea in the first place? It is just not logical. But then the Republicans' stated goal was to make sure Obama failed as president. They have been fighting every single thing he has tried to do for 3 years. And here I thought being patriotic meant doing what was best for the country whether or not you agreed with the president.
