After nine seasons on the Marietta College baseball coaching staff, Mike Deegan has accepted the head coaching job at Denison University.
Under the tutelage of Pioneer head coach Brian Brewer, Deegan helped lead MC to three NCAA Division III national championships, including back to back championships in 2011-2012.
During Deegan's tenure at Marietta, he served as a recruiting coordinator and hitting instructor. He helped guide the team to .331 batting average in 2012 while scoring 419 runs in 56 games.

In addition to coaching at MC, Deegan is also a 2001 graduate of Marietta, where he was twice a first team All-OAC selection. While hitting .393 with seven home runs and 46 runs batted in his senior season, the Etta Express made it to the national championship. In his four years as a player, the Pioneers won four OAC championships.
