From staff reports , The Marietta Times

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Right-hander Kyle Lindquist, who was very instrumental in helping Brian Brewer-coached Marietta College repeat as NCAA Division III champion this past season, has signed a professional baseball contract with the Rockford RiverHawks of the independent Frontier League.

Lindquist becomes the fourth member of those two Pioneer championship teams to compete at the pro level. Currently, shortstop Tim Saunders is playing in the Chicago Cubs organization, and pitchers' Austin Blaski and Mark Williams are throwing in the Milwaukee Brewers farm system.

As the Etta Express closer in his senior campaign, Lindquist was 3-0 with a 1.37 earned-run average and seven saves in 19 appearances, one as a starter. He fanned 39 and issued seven walks in 46 innings, and was credited with a school-record 21 saves.
