Broughton ice cream social rescheduled
The Broughton Ice Cream Social scheduled for Sunday has been rescheduled for July 22 at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The date was changed due to the local power outages.
Williamstown VFD social set for July 20
The Williamstown Volunteer Fire Company's 68th annual ice cream social will begin at 6 p.m. July 20 in the Williamstown City Park. Proceeds will help pay for new firefighting equipment and upgrades to vehicles.
Food available will include hot dogs, soda, coffee, popcorn, cakes, pies and ice cream. There will also be a limited number of half-gallon containers for purchase.
Those who wish to donate cakes or pies for the social can bring them to the city building any time on July 20 or call (304) 375-7761 for pickup. Health regulations prohibit any kind of cream pies, which also includes pumpkin.
Dining With Diabetes class 3 days in Aug.
The next Dining With Diabetes three-part class will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7, 14 and 21. Dining With Diabetes is a cooking school program for people with diabetes and their families or caregivers. The series is free and will be held at the Ohio State University Extension office at 202 Davis Ave. in Marietta. To register for the class, call 376-7431 by Aug. 3.
Bigfoot meeting at library in Cambridge
The Southeastern Ohio Society For Bigfoot Investigation will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Crossroads Branch Library, 63500 Byesville Road, Cambridge. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Nazarene church to hold sevice in park
The Marietta First Church of the Nazarene will hold an evening service in Muskingum Park beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday. The community is welcome. Those attending should bring a lawn chair.
Devola pool offers swimming lessons
The Devola pool will offer swimming lessons in two sessions this summer, from July 9 to 13 and July 16 to 20. A junior lifeguard camp will also be offered July 25 to 29. To sign up, call 374-4140.
