The Washington County Career Center's Adult Technical Training Center announced the hiring of Blake McKinney as Safety Coordinator for the school system. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Compliance as well as safety training for both staff and students. McKinney currently serves as an instructor for Heavy Equipment, Crane Operator and OSHA Compliance at the Adult Technical Training Center, and will continue as an instructor in addition to his Safety Coordinator responsibilities and duties.
Career Center Superintendent Dennis Blatt says McKinney's experience and knowledge of safety was the right fit to bring him on board. "Blake's background fits perfectly with the hands-on training the school provides to the students," notes Blatt.
For 28 years McKinney worked as a heavy and highway equipment mechanic. He went on to start his own safety business, Crown Inspection Services, which he owned and operated as Master Trainer and Inspector for 16 years.
