Karen Kay Ferrell Horsley, 50, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died at her home with her family and husband, Tim, at her side following a brief battle with cancer at 9:15 a.m., Thursday (July 12, 2012). She was born Jan. 16, 1962, in Marietta, to Dale and Mary Kay Davis Ferrell.
Karen graduated from Marietta High School class of 1980, she worked as a Veterinary Tech. at Carey Animal Hospital. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, animals of all kinds and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a sister, Diane (Randy) Wilson; a brother, Jeff Ferrell (Melanie); in-laws, William (Wanda) Horsley; nieces and nephews, Gabby (Josh) and Tabby Ferrell, Chris and Adam (Laura) Wilson, Nathaniel Johnson, Josh and Jeremiah Horsley; one great-niece, Jalynn Ferrell; and several aunts, uncles, cousins; and her beloved pets. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mertis and Carl Davis and James and Mildred Ferrell.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St, Marietta, with the Rev. Stacy Evans officiating. Burial to follow at Putnam Cemetery.
