A Reno area man swimming with three of his friends in the Muskingum River below Devols Dam apparently drowned shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The victim was identified as Benjamin Jay Miller, 21, of Hadley Hollow Road, according to Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks.
Rescue crews from Devola, Marietta, Williamstown, Oak Grove and Reno fire departments were participating in Sunday evening's search for the body.
