Kids, city will miss out with no ice cream trucks

July 27, 2012
The Marietta Times

I think it is a shame that kids today will not be permitted to experience the fun some of us had as kids (like the ice cream trucks) the request to allow the shaved ice to be sold within the city limits brought this to mind. Home delivery and the ice cream man are great memories for some of us that grew up in Marietta.

To use the obesity problem today is a "cop out" as the only ones responsible for a child's obesity falls on the parents just saying "no." Why is that such a difficult word for parents today. Why is the problem always someone else's fault.

This business would be good for the city and others like it. Those are the things that would make Marietta unique and isn't that what we like in our quaint little home town? I for one see no problem with an interesting new project within the city limits. Remember what it was like being a kid??
