Open house at
MMH Belpre campus
A Belpre Medical Campus open house will be held at the Marietta Memorial Belpre Medical Campus from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Those who attend can meet the physicians, specialists and support staff and also tour Physicians Care Express, radiology services and the Strecker Cancer Center. Refreshments and giveaways will be provided.
Congressman plans 2 Monday events
U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, will hold two public events in Marietta Monday. From 9:30 to 10:30 a. m. Johnson will host a "Sit Down with Seniors" discussion on guaranteeing the promise of Medicare and Social Security to current and future generations. After brief opening remarks, Johnson will encourage those in attendance to ask questions and share their views. The forum will be held at the O'Neill Center, 333 Fourth St.
From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Johnson will host a Veterans Roundtable at VFW Post 5108., 319 Pike St. Johnson, who chairs the Veterans Affairs subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, will give brief opening remarks before taking questions and hearing concerns from veterans in attendance.
Committee meetings Wed. in Beverly
The Village of Beverly committee meetings for August will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The regular council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 and the Board of Public Affairs meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 15. All meetings will be held at the village office, 919 Mitchell Ave.
County health board meets Tuesday
A special meeting of the Washington County Board of Health will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the purpose of discussing the budget.
Church plans yard sale next week
The Parr Hill Community Church in Beavertown will hold a yard sale at the old bait shop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Aug. 4.
Vacation Bible School at Open Door
Open Door Baptist Church, 301 Franklin St., Marietta, will hold its Vacation Bible School from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. All those ages 3 to 18 are welcome.
