I always find it interesting how progressives and others on the left call for a ban on everything that troubles them. A recent letter in the Times found such great fault with corporations and wealthy businessmen pushing money at Republican candidates all the while ignoring the hundreds of millions thrown around by unions to elect democrats. Their answer is to ban those men from donating to candidates. No need to worry about union money, that's just fine. How about other issues?
The tragedy and hateful act in Colorado had hardly happened before many were calling for a ban of certain weapons and ammunition. It's as if this deranged man hadn't had those weapons he wouldn't have found another way to kill innocent people.
The list goes on and on. From the food we eat, to Fox News and talk radio, the left only sees enemies that need silenced. Maybe those of us on the right should make a list of things that should be banned.
MSNBC, Al Gore, illegal immigrants, unions, welfare, bailouts, facebook, difficult golf courses, loud car stereos, flat billed hats ... all these things annoy me. Maybe we should ban them all. Seems perfectly logical, right?
