Each year, local fire departments hold their annual ice cream socials to raise funds to benefit the residents and businesses of their communities.
Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department held their social on June 23rd. We once again were blessed with perfect weather, great food, generous donors, many volunteers, and great attendance.
Many thanks goes out to Boy Scout Troop 216, Adventure Seekers 4-H, Boley Enterprises, McLeish Auctions, Air Evac, Med Flight, the many donators of pies, cakes, merchandise for the auction and country store, the many volunteers, and all who attended. Without you, these socials would not be possible.
Thanks also goes out to Larry Mincks, Cora Marshall, David and Anita White, Ron Feathers, Mark Kerenyi, Peg Littler, and Charles Richter for all their help in the kitchen.
Congratulations to Bobby Roseberry Jr. and Ashley Farnsworth, crowned Prince and Princess for 2012-2013.
Fire departments are a vital and necessary organization in the community to respond to your needs in a time of emergency. If you would like to become a firefighter of EMT, contact your local fire department to find what it takes to become part of the team.
Again, many thanks to all involved. We look forward to seeing you at next years ice cream social. Mark your calendar for June 22, 2013.
