Ray Denzil Burdette, 97, of Marietta, last surviving member of the John Burdette family, passed away Saturday (July 28, 2012) at The Marietta Center.
He was born Wednesday, June 23, 1915, in Elizabeth, W.Va., to the late John B. and Margaret Williams Burdette. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a foreman from Remington Rand and Kardex.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Helen Meister Burdette. Also by his sister-in-law, Nellie Meister Wagner; and several nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Jerry, Claude and Paul Burdette; and sisters, Esther, Edna, Mabel and Pearl.
